We are deeply saddened to report the sudden passing of Scott Kuhnert, M.D. of Bath, Michigan. Scott was an active MSA Board Member for many years. Below are the formal obituary and visitation and funeral details.

Scott Michael Kuhnert MD
April 4, 1969 - December 5, 2014
Scott Michael Kuhnert, MD, age 45, died unexpectedly on December 5, 2014 as a result of a tragic car accident. He was born April 4, 1969, in Kalamazoo, MI to Ronald and Joyce (Dornan) Kuhnert. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and physician. Scott was a man of the highest integrity. His greatest love and passion in life was his family. He was involved in every aspect of their lives and they filled him with great pride and joy.
Scott attained his Bachelor of Science degree through Michigan State University at the Lyman Briggs College, and his Medical Degree through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Kuhnert completed his anesthesiology residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He was a pain management specialist at Matrix Pain Management in Saginaw. He was also active in the Michigan State Medical Society, the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists and was a past president of the Ingham County Medical Society. His dedication and love for his vocation as a physician was immeasurable. Scott was an avid reader, fisherman, cook, and Michigan State sports enthusiast. Most of all, he loved attending his sons' sporting events.
Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 20 years, Kristine; 3 sons, Holden, Maxwell and Quinn; parents, Joyce & Ron Kuhnert; brother, Steve (Ronda) Kuhnert; nephews, Noah and Lucas; parents-in-law, Jane & Michael Blaze; sister-in-law, Cathy Blaze; special aunt and uncle, Kathy & Marty Mazany.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing, MI with Fr. Mark Inglot officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 9, 2-4 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI and Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kuhnert Children Education Fund, C/O Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 1208, East Lansing, Michigan 48826.
If you wish to truly honor Scott, Kristine, Holden, Max and Quinn, please do not drink and drive.
