George, an anesthesiologist and former MSA president, is interim CEO at MSMS

The Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists (MSA) applauds member Dr. Tom George, who today became interim CEO of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS).

George is a practicing physician at Kalamazoo Anesthesiology P.C., where he will continue on a part-time basis while serving as interim CEO of the MSMS. He also is a longtime member of the MSA, serving as president from 1992 to 1994. He is the co-chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Western Michigan University’s Homer Stryker School of Medicine, and he served in the Michigan Legislature from 2003 to 2010.

“Dr. George brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this new role, and we’re excited to work with him and our physician colleagues throughout the state in advocating for our profession and promoting physician-led care that protects patient safety,” said MSA President Dr. Neeju Ravikant. “We’re proud to partner with the MSMS on important issues facing physicians in Michigan, and we’re confident Dr. George will serve the MSMS members well.”
